Meet our team

Shaunna Sanders,
JD, MBA

Shaunna has been helping professional and technical entrepreneurs launch and grow their business for ten years. She  is a licensed attorney, an experienced entrepreneur, and a certified mediator. In addition to her JD and MBA from Brigham Young University, she has an MA in English Literature from the University of Nevada in Las Vegas.

Shaunna enjoys reading, writing, cooking (not baking), cycling, and paddleboarding. She has written and published two novels and a collection of poetry. She and Dr. John Sanders are the parents of four children.

John Sanders,
DO

John is a family physician and experienced entrepreneur. He opened his private practice in 2018 and has spent the past 8 years working with other small business owners to find innovative solutions to the most common problems faced in the small business world.

John enjoys a wide variety of sports, including soccer, basketball, volleyball, football, and, most recently, pickleball. He loves camping, hunting, and foraging for wild mushrooms. He is also a skilled woodworker and creates unique pieces of serenity wood to share with friends and patients.

Christine Washburn,
JD

Christine has been practicing law since 2000 and is licensed in Nevada and Utah. Christine’s legal experience includes both litigation and transactional work, including construction, insurance defense, estate planning, business formation, contracts, commercial lease review and revision, and commercial buy/sell and purchase agreements. She has been a corporate attorney for an MSP/IT Consulting Company for 18 years. Christine is also a certified mediator.

Christine enjoys reading, writing, baking, playing golf, volleyball  and softball, although her favorite sport is pickleball. She loves music, plays piano, cello and sings. She and her husband have six children and enjoy helping them pursue all their various activities.

Joseph Sanders,
Accountant

Joseph has a B.S. in Accounting from Utah Tech University and five years of experience as a bookkeeper and accountant. He is a certified Quickbooks ProAdvisor and skilled at generating financial projections in addition to reports. Joseph is currently preparing to become an Enrolled Agent and will be providing tax strategy and filing services in the near future.

Joseph enjoys weight lifting and performance optimization. He is also fascinated by marine biology. His goal is to retire near the ocean and spend his days scuba diving and studying sharks and other marine life.

Kagen Despain,
JD, MBA

Kagen is an attorney licensed in Utah and California. After graduating with a JD and MBA from Brigham Young University, Kagen worked at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, representing tech entrepreneurs on a variety of matters, including company formations and compliance, and later joined BYUtv to manage strategic and business development initiatives.

Prior to law school Kagen worked as a video editor and on film sets. He still enjoys film and can be found on weekends at the theater or in the mountains when the weather is nice. He plays classical guitar and flute and is a gifted composer.

Kaylee Cox,
Paralegal

Kaylee is a focused, professional paralegal with 13 years of experience in transactional, litigation, and public sector legal work. She brings a critical eye for detail and an expansive, holistic approach to legal research and strategy.

She holds an Associate degree in Paralegal Studies and Bachelor’s degrees in Public Administration and Homeland Security. Her diverse academic and professional background gives her a unique perspective on the intersection of law, government, policy, and people.

Outside of her professional work, Kaylee enjoys cooking, puzzles, and her longstanding interest in true crime and investigative cases. She is happiest spending time with her husband and their six children.

Sara Niemann,
Operations Manager, Paralegal

Sara is a seasoned professional with 22 years of experience in the sub‑prime lending industry. She has built a reputation for accuracy, consistency, and deep operational knowledge across bankruptcy, customer support, and portfolio management. She has helped teams navigate regulatory requirements while maintaining a strong focus on customer experience and organizational integrity.

Sara prioritizes daily workouts to stay centered and productive. Outside of work, she enjoys true‑crime podcasts and spending quality time with her husband and their three children.
